Between July 7^th and 13^th, 2019, Academicians Guo Huadong, Wu Xiangping and Wang Weihua, accompanied by Li Ting, Director of Academician Bureau of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chen Xi, Professor of Chinese Academy of Sciences Xinjiang Branch, Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography and Director of Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (RCEECA), visited Tajikistan Academy of Sciences and Kyrgyzstan Academy of Sciences.

While staying in Tajikistan, they met President Farhod Rahimi of Tajikistan Academy of Sciences, listened to the introduction of Academician Khikmat Muminov, First Vice President, about the Academy and held a panel discussion with Vice President Saidov Abdusattor. Academician Guo Huadong gave a brief introduction of Chinese Academy of Sciences and various departments, the framework of greater science plan of international cooperation for “Digital Belt and Road” (DBAR) and its work progress and discussed and exchanged views about the selection of academicians for national academy of sciences and bringing the function of think tank to play. Besides, they also visited Astronomical Observatory of the Institute of Astrophysics of Tajikistan Academy of Sciences, RCEECA Dushanbe Branch and the affiliated Kondara Mountain Ecosystem Field Observation.

While staying in Kyrgyzstan, President Murat Dzhumataev of Kyrgyzstan Academy of Sciences held a penal discussion to introduce the basic information of Kyrgyzstan Academy of Sciences while Academician Guo Huadong introduced Chinese Academy of Sciences and its departments and work progress in DBAR project. Participants from both sides also discussed and exchanged views on the regulations and amendments of Kyrgyzstan Academy of Sciences, building of national think tanks, recent reform and development, scientific and technological cooperation and talents training. After the meeting, they went to visit RCEECA Bishkek Branch and its affiliated Kyzyl-Suu Mountain Ecosystem Field Station.

Relevant personnel of the Academician Bureau of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Research Institute for Scientific Strategy Consulting and RCEECA also went to visit with them.
