RCEECA Attends the 4th Overseas Agriculture Research Conference
At the invitation of International Cooperation Bureau of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Researcher Liu Wenjiang, Executive Deputy Director of Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (RCEECA) attended the “4th Overseas Agriculture Research Conference” held in Beijing on December 14th.
This conference was held at the main venue and was live streamed. Over 200 people from the joint member of the Ministry for Overseas Agricultural Cooperation at national level, member of global agricultural big data and information service alliance, international organizations such as UNFAO, representatives of the embassies in China, agricultural science and research institutions and enterprises attended the conference at main venue. Besides, Zhang Zhongjun, assistant representative of UNFAO office in China and charge d'affaires, Peng Tingjun, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Sun Tan, Vice President of CAAS attended the opening ceremony.
This conference was consisted of sessions on international organizations, various countries and cooperation between science and research institution and enterprise and separate exchanges and discussions were conducted. At the session on various countries, Liu Wenjiang introduced the management, operation, R&D platform, talents cultivation, results and experiment demonstrations related to agricultural technologies of RCEECA. He also shared the principle and idea of an open, cooperative, sharing and jointly developed RCEECA.
At the conference, the research results from think tank of Overseas agricultural research center, CAAS for 2020 and the “Belt and Road” Model for Global Agricultural Market(SILK-MGA)were also released. The opening and licensing ceremony for Lianyungang station affiliated with the public information and service platform of agricultural cooperation with other countries was held.
Overseas agricultural conference is a platform set by the Overseas Agriculture Research Center of CAAS for government departments, agricultural research institutions and enterprises which go overseas to release their research results, promote information sharing and agricultural cooperation with foreign countries. This conference has been held successfully for 3 times between 2017 and 2019 with expanding scale and increasing influence. 2020 marks the last year of 13th “Five-year Plan” and against the backdrop of complicated international situations, challenges brought by COVID-19 and the idea to better build a new development pattern featuring domestic and international dual circulation and mutual promotion, the success of the 4th conference has great significance.
