On November 10th, the standardization exchange symposium of Central Asia was held at the Central Asian Standardization (Xinjiang) Research Center. More than 20 representatives from the relevant departments and bureaus, scientific research institutes and state-owned enterprises of the autonomous region attended the meeting.

The meeting aims to play the coordinating role of the Central Asian Standardization Expert Database, strengthen communication, share experience, form joint efforts, and further promote the standardization exchanges and cooperation between Xinjiang and Central Asian countries, and serve the “going global” of the enterprises and technologies and the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

Liu Wenjiang systematically introduced the RCEECA’s cooperation and exchanges in ecological environment with Central Asian countries in terms of target positioning, operation management, scientific research platform, cooperation progress, results output and other aspects since its establishment, and also shared his own thoughts and suggestions regarding the technology applications and laboratory certification relating to ecological restoration and agricultural water-saving, safety guarantee of drinking water, drone-based monitoring, etc.

Combining with their own cooperation and exchanges with Central Asian countries, and focusing on the technical support of standardization in infrastructure, economic and trade cooperation, industrial development, ecological environment governance, social management, etc., the  experts attending the meeting discussed the issues on how to effectively drive Xinjiang’s products, technologies, equipment and services to “go global”, how to promote the regional economic development in Xinjiang and other relevant topics, and also exchanged their views on the details of the opportunities and challenges for standardization cooperation, development of key industries, requirements for standards and regulations, and key tasks and plans in Central Asian countries.

At the exchange symposium, letters of appointment were also awarded to the first batch of expert representatives selected for the Central Asian Standardization Expert Database of the autonomous region.

The Central Asian Standardization (Xinjiang) Research Center was established in the Standardization Research Institute of Market Supervision Administration of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region by the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China in June 2017. It aims to actively promote the study on the comparison with the standards of Central Asian countries, and continue to promote the construction of Central Asian standard library during integration, fusion and mutual recognition of the standards.
