Recently, Beidou signals have been sent from the beautiful Lake Sarez, marking the successful completion and operation of the first Lake Sarez Dam Deformation Monitoring System based on Beidou technology.

The monitoring system was jointly researched and developed by the National Time Service Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia, after  technical equipment research, domestic simulation testing and joint commissioning abroad, the Dushanbe Branch Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia finally completed the field integration and connection of the dam and began real-time monitoring operation. Based on Beidou technological advantages and combined with the harsh environmental conditions of Lake Sarez, the Research and Development Team has overcome a series of technological issues, such as low-power, light-weight and portable Beidou monitoring terminal, ultra long-term continuous and stable photovoltaic power supply, stable communication of joint local and wide area, Beidou real-time millimeter level reliable positioning and monitoring system integrity monitoring and prevention and control under complex environment and climate, and the monitoring system comprising Beidou signal acquisition module, solar photovoltaic power supply module, regional network transmission and VSAT satellite network communication module, and real-time data precision solution module has been constructed.

Beidou Real-time Millimeter Clairvoyance Technology can real-time monitor millimeter level displacement, real-time transfer monitoring data through communications satellite, so as to realize the continuous millimeter level deformation monitoring of the Lake Sarez Usoi Dam, provide important scientific reference for the safety of the dam, and promote the international cooperation in disaster prevention and reduction and Beidou "the Belt and Road" international application between China and Tajikistan.

Beidou Dam Deformation Monitoring System is the key content and important work of the Project "Lake Sarea Dam Deformation Monitoring Based on Beidou Technology" deployed by Overseas Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the successful completion and normal operation of the monitoring system will ensure the completion of the contract tasks and expected objectives of the Project on schedule.
