On April 16^th, a group of people led by Yi Bin, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Center National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) conducted research at Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (RCEECA) while accompanied by Professor Chen Xi, Secretary of Party Committee of Xinjiang Branch Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Director of RCEECA and Academician Xiao Wenjiao of Xinjiang Branch.

At the symposium held at Xinjiang Branch, Liu Wenjiang, Deputy Managing Director of RCEECA, gave a systematic and comprehensive introduction of the center from establishment process, target location, operation, management, organizational structure, achievement, external influence and work plan. Mr. Liu Wenjiang also listened to the introduction given by Research Wang Weisheng, Director of Information Center, on data management, analysis and sharing while visiting the Big Data Center of RCEECA and demonstrated examples of data mining and application.

Deputy Director Yi Bin gave a high recognition of the establishment and development of RCEECA after listening to the report and visited site and said that both sides had great potential for cooperation. In the future, both sides would strengthen exchanges and communication on high-end think tank, foreign-aid training and talents education to advance the realization of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

International Cooperation Center of NDRC, established in 1993, is an institution directly affiliated with NDRC and one of the major departments for international cooperation. Now it has become a major agency to support NDRC in implementing a series of international cooperation mechanism such as the “Belt and Road” and international capacity cooperation as well as a new comprehensive think tank covering various businesses including policy research, international cooperation, planning, consultation, high-end training and foreign affairs service.
