“China-Kazakhstan Agricultural Big Data Analysis Center” Work Promotion Conference by RCEECA

On April 27, 2022, Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (hereinafter referred to as RCEECA) and Seifullin Kazakh Agricultural Technology University (KATU) successfully held the “China-Kazakhstan Agricultural Big Data Analysis Center” work promotion conference. The relevant personnel of RCEECA, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, and KATU attended the meeting chaired by Chen Xi, director of the RCEECA.

At the meeting, Director Chen Xi reviewed the construction process and phased achievements of "China-Kazakhstan Agricultural Big Data Analysis Center", and introduced the International Partnership Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences "R&D and Demonstration Application of Kazakhstan Food Crop Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Platform" (hereinafter referred to as the IPP). Chen also discussed and arranged the the key work of China-Kazakhstan Agricultural Big Data Analysis Center and the implementation of the IPP in the next stage.

Ismail.Tokbergenov, vice President of KATU, fully recognized the IPP, pointed out that Kazakhstan is in urgent need of relevant research, and expressed the willingness of full cooperation with the implementation of the project. He also put forward constructive suggestions on the implementation of the project, and hoped to conduct in-depth cooperation with China in the agricultural field in the future.

"China-Kazakhstan Agricultural Big Data Analysis Center" was co-founded by the RCEECA,  Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography and KATU in 2019. It aims to make use of the China’s advantages and experience in the big data mining technology and application services.  By this way, it will help build Kazakhstan's decision support system from three levels: nation, state, and farmer, as well as promote and serve the development of Kazakhstan's agriculture to improve its quality and efficiency, and further support China-Kazakhstan cooperation in agricultural science and technology.
