On January 31, 2023, Satellite Remote Sensing Application Center of China-SCO Geoscience Research Center (hereafter referred to as Satellite Center of SCO Geoscience Research Center) signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dushanbe branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (RCEECA) and reached consensus on further international scientific and technological cooperation in satellite remote sensing. Chen Xi—Director of RCEECA, Hu Zenglin—Secretary of Communist Party Committee of Shaanxi Institute of Geological Survey and Director of Satellite Center of SCO Geoscience Research Center and Saidov—Director of Dushanbe branch of RCEECA attended the meeting and gave speeches. The meeting was held by Liu Wenjiang—Deputy Managing Director of RCEECA. And the signing ceremony was attended by relevant staff of RCEECA and Satellite Center of SCO Geoscience Research Center.

The signing of the MOU, with both sides upholding the principles of long-term cooperation, joint building and win-win, is aimed to further cooperation and exchanges, build strategic cooperative partnerships and work together to conduct international cooperation in satellite remote sensing by playing both parties’ advantages. Both sides will also conduct practical and beneficial cooperation in ecological environment monitoring, agriculture monitoring, disaster prevention and relief with satellite remote sensing, talents training and international academic exchanges in central Asia.

By integrating both sides’ scientific, technological and resources advantages in research platform, data and talents, a joint work force is formed to foster a good momentum for an open international cooperation in science and technology, realize mutual benefits and win-win, and further promote the supportive and leading role of scientific and technological innovation in realizing interconnection, which is a part of the “Belt and Road”.
