The International Workshop on Sustainable Development and Natural Disaster Management under the Belt and Road Initiative was successfully Held in Shenzhen
On the morning of May 22, organized by the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology CAS, co-organized by the Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia CAS (hereinafter referred to as RCEECA), the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography CAS, and the Institute of Soil & Agricultural Chemistry of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the 2023 International Workshop on Sustainable Development and Natural Disaster Management under the Belt and Road Initiative & the International Training Course on Remote Sensing Intelligent Monitoring and Management of Agricultural Disasters for Countries along Belt and Road was successfully held in Shenzhen.
The Workshop was presided over by Researcher Chen Xi (Secretary of Leading Party Group of Xinjiang Branch CAS & Director of RCEECA), and Researcher Fan Jianping (Director of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology) and Zhuang Xin (Secondary Consultant of Policy & Regulation Division of Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee) and other leaders attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. More than 40 people (including 22 experts and scholars from countries along the Belt and Road, as well as experts and scholars from China, Hong Kong and Macao and enterprise representatives) attended the opening ceremony.
Researcher Chen Xi addressed that Chinese Academy of Sciences had historical foundation for science and technology cooperation over years with Central Asia countries along Belt and Road, for example, the RCEECA was jointly established, and the cooperation on many aspects under the framework of ANSO was conducted, expecting this Workshop could further promote the cooperation of the countries along Belt and Road in many fields.
Four high-quality expert reports were arranged on this Workshop, covering the fields of sustainable development and disaster management, and experts had deep sharing and discussion on topics such as arid ecological environment, UAV information processing, remote sensing information, and intelligent agriculture.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. Taking this opportunity, in order to promote and deepen the cooperation and exchange between China and Asia, Europe and Africa, an International Training Course on Remote Sensing Intelligent Monitoring and Management of Agricultural Disasters for Countries along Belt and Road was held in Shenzhen from May 21 to June 9, during which a series of academic discussions and exchange activities were conducted.
