The Annual Summary and Exchange Meeting on International Cooperation Projects between China and Mongolia was Successfully Held

     Between January 4 and 6, a delegation composed of 4 persons from the National University of Mongolia, the National University of Mongolia (Khovd) and the Mongolian Foundation of Science and Technology visited Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography CAS (hereinafter referred to as Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography), and the annual summary and exchange meeting was held for the cooperation project.

     During the meeting, the experts from both sides had deep exchange and discussion for the impact of climate change on the alpine ecosystem of the Altai Mountains in Mongolia, the dynamic spatio-temporal change of hydroclimate and vegetation in the Great Lakes region of Mongolia, the spatio-temporal change of vegetation NPP and its driving factors in the Altai Region adjacent to China and Mongolia, the impact of climate change and human activities on the depression lakes in the Great Lakes region of Mongolia, and the survey and assessment of water quality in western Mongolia. On behalf of the Project Team, Researcher Zhou Hongfei summarized the overall research progress and made key deployment for the implementation of the next research plan.

      This meeting is an important event conducted by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography for the comprehensive resumption of exchange and cooperation between China and Mongolia after the COVID-19, and it is also an important achievement of the RCEECA's role as a platform to serve scientific and technological innovation. In addition, during the visit, the delegation visited the Xinjiang Museum of Natural History.
